A high school girl was found dead in her bathroom. Both her wrists torn, the girl committed suicide.

No one knows for sure what caused the girl desperate to kill her own life. Neither did the police, the teachers, nor his parents.

However, the girl left 13 sound recordings stored on seven tapes. The record tape that contains the reason why he committed suicide was only given to those responsible for his death.

That's the essence of 13 reasons Why. A Netflix production web series released early April.

The series attracts a lot of social media users and gets a 9.0 rating on the IMDb site!

I first got to know this series from a podcast that I listened to.

It did not take long to complete all 13 Reasons Why episodes. Maybe only about five days because I watch two to three episodes an hour long every day.

At first glance, the school looked like other high schools. If there is one thing that is unique from the school, it is the students are very diverse.

Some are white; some are black, some are latin-faced, some are Asian-faced, some are normal, some are gay, some are lesbians, some are tattoos but do not use drugs, etc.

The rest, it is a regular high school, a place where everyone wants to exist and popular.

Some children are becoming popular because they belong to the school basketball team. Some are active in school organizations. But there are also children who only focus on learning and not so popular in school. Usually, children like this are very few.

Clay Jensen, arguably one of the children. He was not very popular in school although he was quite smart and had a pretty handsome face.

Clay was one of the people that hardest hit by the death of Hannah Baker, the reckless girl. Clay harbored a taste he could not reveal to her.

Clay is also one of the people who get Hannah's tape recordings, which means he also has a stake in his death!

Clay was trying to uncover the mystery that enveloped Hannah's death. While listening to the tape, he searched the places where Hannah had some unpleasant events.

One by one the mystery was revealed. Each recording contains one name and the evil deeds they have done to Hannah.

Regarding the stories, 13 reasons why I think is very interesting. The interesting story idea was executed into 13 episodes that always managed to create intense tension.

This makes me always feel "over-exciting" every time I finish an episode.

Katherine Langford who plays Hannah can force me to shudder every time she heard her distinctive voice. Her beautiful figure and eyed eyes made me continue to empathize with Hannah.

The cast of Clay Jensen, Dylan Minette also managed to make me feel the frustration of a guy who lost his beloved girl and especially herself is one of the causes of the girl's suicide.

One thing I like best about this series is its excellent editing.

This series often display images of an event in the past, then suddenly switches to the present. Sometimes they are also combined to add dramatic impression.

Also, I also like the soundtrack songs of this series. Good songs that always play at the end of this episode seem to be a bidder of sadness and depression every time you finish watching an episode.

Although the series is very good and exciting, you should not watch when your mood is not okay or dropped.

In the early episodes, this series may be quite comfortable to watch. But the longer it gets, you will catch the sense of depression and sadness that is told in this series. Particularly in the last three episodes that I think are pretty horrible and sad.

This series could have triggered audiences whose minds were not clear to imitate what Hannah Baker did, take revenge by suicide.

But I also got some lessons to be gained from 13 reasons why,

  • If I ever thought of suicide, I will remember my parents, imagine their feelings. This series illustrates the pain of parents whose children commit suicide.
  • Watch and Care to the people closest to me more. If they appear to be having a problem, offer assistance. Do not be quiet, if you do not want to regret later.
  • If I ever hurt the feelings of others I will immediately apologize, who knows he/she is the type of person who is not easy to forget something.
  • Always think positive. Every problem there must be a solution and never feel alone. Although little, believe me, there are always people who care about us.

If you're interested in watching this series, do not forget to prepare your heart and mind before watching it. Because you will get over exciting moment a couple of times.
