THIS 5 LETTER WORD CAN EARN YOUR CONTENT/WRITE UP AN EMBARASSMENT IF NOT PROPERLY USE

there are some confusing english words commonly used in writing contents, blog post e.t.c unconciously

and you know the social media is a big platform where we have different set of people

what you didn't notice or count may be something big infront of some people

that the reason why it always good to know how to use those words the proper way

these words are Homophones-

Homo means:- "SAME"

While

Phone means :- "SOUND"

Homophones are words that has thesame pronounciation OR sound but have differnt meaning and spelling

i also made same mistake somewhere last week so it not a big deal don't think am an english teacher

Softwares and apps like Grammarly doesn't correct mistakes like this so the best pratice is to know how to use them at the right place and right time

words like this can make you or your contnent look stupid before some folks (i tell you) they will even tell you you are writing like a primary school child(the most embarrassing statement)

to be honest with you i don't notice all those things in people's writeup am always after the lesson i will learn from the content not the grammatical errors and vocabulary

if you can remember i told you earlier that we are not thesame so for you to be save from this kind of errors and mistake

FOLLOW ME

we have words like this in batch but i will only mention few of them and point out the ones i do use wrongly and how to use them

  1. THERE AND THEIR

2.THIS AND THESE

  1. HAS AND AS

if you study those words carefully you will notice they have thesame pronuciation and whenever someone like me type on my pc i type any of them that comes to my hand(Lol)

And these words cant be correct if they are mis-used

so i leave it like that in most of my writings and no one has ever complain to me since have been writing

infact people will still say thank you for the content beause the are value packed content so they dont see that error

until last week when a young man confronted me and i was really glad he did

the ones i use wrongly is THERE AND THEIR i was using their in place of there (Lol)

and it was done unconciously i know you might also been making thesame mistake but let me quickly show you somethings

"THERE" IS A NOUN, AN ADVERB, A PRONOUN (BUT IT DOES NOT SHOW POSSESSION)

there is used in naming a place a thing or the existence of something

E.g i have been "THERE" before

Is She "THERE" ?

whenever you use "THERE" alaways replace it with the word "Here" and see if the statements still goes

i have been "HERE" before==> Do you see that it work

is she "HERE"==> Same

this is there bread and butter

this is here bread and butter==> (Not correct)

And the reason where is not correct is because "there" does not show possession

it only the word "THEIR" that shows possession

"THEIR" is a plural adjective that is used to show possession i.e what belong to them and is always followed by a noun

so wherever you use "THEIR" always replace it with the word "OUR" and see if the statements still goes

E.g <=== This is "THEIR" bread and butter ===>

This is "OUR" bread and butter==> (Do you see the statement is correct)

<==== Shola brought "THEIR" goods today ====>

Shola brought "OUR" goods today==>( Correct)

to avoid using those words wrongly in your contents try to learn how to use them in the right place and at the right time

P.s- which one have you been using wrongly "share some of them in the comment box someone may also learn from it"
