Amazon Prime Day 2018 will be on 16 July – that’s if an Amazon Prime Day banner spotted by our sister site TechRadar is to be believed.

The retailer posted a banner on its UK website yesterday announcing that an “epic day (and a half)” of Amazon Prime Day deals will begin at midday on 16 July 2018. The noon launch will make this year’s Prime Day a whopping 36 hours, beating last year’s 30-hour UK summer spending spree by half a day.![DgNx4hXVMAEzh3u.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmWdrLHLAF3Bj6YhxLZ5iR5Lri7nxRf9NVFD6KqdQDofQ1/DgNx4hXVMAEzh3u.jpg)

In the US, TechRadar predicts that Amazon Prime Day will begin at midday on 16 July EST and run until midnight on 17 July PST. That stretches the event to a sprawling 39 hours in the States.

We’ll be bringing you all the best Amazon Prime Day camera deals and photography bargains right here on 16 and 17 July – so make sure you bookmark this page and check back in closer to the time.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day is the online retailer’s summertime answer to Black Friday, during which the prices of hundreds of products are slashed.

Amazon Prime Day deals are only available to Amazon Prime members, but if you’re not a subscriber, it’s possible to grab a slice of the action by signing up to a free 30-day trial. If you don’t want to continue the service after the summer sales bonanza, you can cancel any time before the trial period is up.

Amazon Prime gives you free next-day delivery on thousands of items, plus exclusive deals, video and music streaming, and a lot more. You can sign up to Prime – or get a no-commitment 30-day free trial – here:

If you haven't heard too much about it before, it’s because Prime Day is a fairly recent event, first taking place in 2015 to celebrate Amazon’s 20th birthday. Since then it’s evolved quickly, with this year looking set to be the biggest and best so far.

TechRadar forecasts that Amazon Marketplace sellers will get in on the act in a big way, with exciting deals in virtually every product category on the site – from laptops and games consoles to sports, beer and wine, fashion and beyond.

And don’t be surprised if you see other major retailers launching their own summer sales events to counter Amazon. It’s widely expected that a host of additional retailers will use Prime Day as an opportunity to grab a share of people’s wallets.

AMAZON PRIME DAY DEALS FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS

So what Amazon Prime Day deals for photographers can we expect? Although Amazon’s own devices are likely to feature prominently throughout the event – think Echo smart speakers, Kindles, Fire TV sticks and Fire Tablets – we hope to see some decent Amazon Prime Day deals on cameras, lenses and photography accessories.

Traditionally these deals have been harder to spot, but with this year's event set to eclipse all others before it, our team will be working hard to find the best Amazon Prime Day deals for photographers.

In addition, we also expect to see plenty of discounted computers and monitors, so if you’re in the market for a new laptop or monitor for photo-editing, and can wait a little longer, it’s worth hanging on to see what bargains Amazon makes available.

We'll be busy curating all the best Amazon Prime Day deals for photographers on this page – so head back this way on the 16 July.
