My life for the past 14+ years has been filled with so many children from different cultures, aged between 5 months and 9 years. The playschool and junior phase learning centre where I work is a lively, noisy place. These little people are around me 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. In this photo, Aunty Eunice is showing some of the little ones how to plant stuff. Whether anything survives is dependent on the monkeys that take over the school after all the children have left. It is a happy, busy and fulfilling environment in which I spend my days being mum, granny, teacher, nurse, counsellor, friend to all these little people who are placed in our care daily. It is a privilege to be able to observe their growth and development over the years. As exhausting as it is, I love my job!
