Our little village on the south coast of KwaZulu Natal, South African East Coast, has many amazing beaches. We sometimes take for granted the awesomeness of where we live. A few hundred meters in either direction from the gate of our driveway takes us to four lovely beaches. We moved here from Johannesburg when my son was 1, he is now almost 26 and has an 11 month old adorable little girl of his own. He has grown up enjoying the sea, sun and beach life, is a professional diver, scuba diver, and has done free diving amongst sharks (much to my shock and horror).
This photo is of my son and granddaughter on one of our beaches, it portrays the quality of life which we are privileged to experience.
Have a fantastic weekend, wherever you may be!
Looks like a nice day to be at the beach! Enjoy the sunshine!
It's so hot here right now, humid and uncomfortable. Going into autumn when we usually experience the hottest days. But much prefer this lifestyle to the city :)
That humidity can get you. I was in SA in December years ago and it was downright lovely. I really enjoyed the weather then. At least you're somewhere you can cool down a bit. They don't have beaches in skyscrapers... yet. :)
@themanwithnoname I hope you come to SA again one day. It's the east coast that's so humid, last night was a killer! Fans on, windows open ... no breeze! But still love it here. Johannesburg is too dry and smoggy!
I was in Cape Town. There's a fair amount of wind over there. It would be fun to go back sometime. :)
Fair amount of wind - that's putting it mildly :) I was there mid January for a weekend to attend my nephew's wedding - they're suffering a terrible drought at the moment with severe water restrictions. Time to sleep - past midnight here.
Yes, I think a lot of the country is having water issues. Maybe not on the east coast where you are though? It sounded like the had bumped back the restrictions a few times because people had cut down on the water usage, but they finally had to institute it. Enjoy your rest!
Sometimes we take things we already have for granted. Thanks for taking time to share this and remind us to appreciate and be grateful for all the good that there is in our lives. :)
Thanks @iexplore. I constantly have to remind myself of all the blessings in my life. It's so easy to get caught up in the negative and letting it overwhelm you. Have a great Sunday.
Agreed. I wake up every morning, look over at my wife and son and usually dog crammed in between us all and I remind myself how grateful I am for what I have...:)
