Ol Doinyo Lengai, located in Tanzania, also known as ‘Mountain of God’ is threatening an eruption! What a time as well, with the relevancy of the name is there any surprise that this volcano is ready to blow?
The Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano in Tanzania is the only known actively erupting carbonatite volcano on the planet with a type of lava that can move faster than a person.
Lava that moves faster than a person? That sounds a bit terrifying, evacuations would need to be enforced before the eruption, should it be a big one!
The Mountain of God isn't the only one! A violent eruption occurred at Soputan volcano in Indonesia!
An intense eruptive phase started at North Sulawesi's Soputan volcano at 17:02 UTC, December 15, 2018 (01:02 LT, December 16). The volcano is producing lava fountains and ash columns up to 8 km (26 200 feet) above sea level. The Aviation Color Code was raised from Yellow to Orange and then to Red.
