Trump, Ukraine And Impeachment

The whole issue of whether the president may urge foreign leaders to conduct investigations of American citizens running for office has now become the crux of the impeachment inquiry. Any allegations of quid pro quo with Zelensky flew out the window, when the transcript of Trump’s call offered no evidence that the he was offering military aid in exchange for a favor. The Democrats however insist this is a question of an illegal campaign contribution, rather than asking them to root out corruption that allegedly involved Joe Biden and his son. Hong Kong Police Shoot 18-Year-Old

During the on going Hong Kong protests a young man was shot in the chest by police Tuesday during a protest against China’s celebration of 70 years under communism. The protest comes after approximately four months of demonstrations across Hong Kong, which was sparked by a extradition bill that would have sent Hong Kong residents convicted of crimes to mainland China for trial, which has since been withdrawn. Hongkongers have kept the protests going until their demands have been met, which include Chief Executive Carrie Lam’s resignation, an inquiry into police brutality, the release of those who have been arrested and more democratic freedoms. Russia’s Largest Oil Company Dumps Dollar

Russia’s largest oil company Rosneft has set the euro as the default currency for all new exports of crude oil and refined products as of September. Rosneft is the biggest oil exporter from Russia, selling around 2.4 million barrels per day of oil, according to Reuters estimates. This could have an effect on the strength of the all powerful petrodollar, or at least the beginning of the cracks. (Click image below to read more...)

Will Death Stranding Redefine Gaming?

It’s the most eagerly awaited game of the year, in a dystopian world where babies are stored in life-support jars, humans are stalked by oily ghosts, all from the mind of acclaimed video game director Hideo Kojima. He is to games what Stanley Kubrick and James Cameron are to film, his work is relentlessly provocative, often outraging fans on release, only for his intentions to be later understood. Microsoft’s New Dual-Screen Phone

So Microsoft is in the process of making an Android phone, seems kind of weird, because why would the phone not run on Windows. Just for the record Android only exists because Google’s old CEO Eric Schmidt was worried that Microsoft was going to take over smartphones. Ironically today Android is so dominant that Microsoft had no choice but to adopt it. (Click image below to read more...)

I have always said that Trump is a problematic character, to say the least. Right now, I think he is his own biggest enemy. He should learn from the Chinese, who say litle and do a lot.
It would be a pity if he gets ousted before Maduro.
Politics are murky business everywhere, but International politics are darker than petroleum.
Someone have mercy on us!

Of the news reported in this new issue, I am particularly interested in that relating to the protest demonstrations by young people in Hong Kong against the Chinese Communist regime; it is a very strong and determined movement, which I hope will have a good result, for the sake of international politics. I was also attracted by Rosneft's decision to disengage from the dollar and take the euro; it will obviously have an effect on the international economy. Finally, I don't know videogame director Kojima, but being related to Stanley Kubrick (one of my favorite filmmakers), I will be interested in him. Thanks for your post, @MorkRock.

Trump and Facebook continue to make the world's biggest headlines! Trump really in the eye of the hurricane. Regarding China and its communism, the military parade they held to celebrate 70 years of communism in the Asian country was impressive. The message was clear! No wonder China is Venezuela's ally: it kills its demonstrators and frightens its military. On this side of the world, Peru and Ecuador were in the news for some measures and decisions. Two news items that also occupied the first places were the attack on Paris and the next demand that Prince Harry will make to a London newspaper. Thank you for your excellent summary.
