Four male BBC's news presenters have agreed to a pay cut after details of unequal pay within the Corporation were revealed.
Jon Sopel, Huw Edwards, Jeremy Vine and John Humphrys, have all agreed to reduce their salaries.
It comes after for BBC China Editor Carrie Gracie's resignation from her post in a move to hit back at unequal pay between male and female staff at the broadcaster.

  • Health officials have said that the winter flu outbreak appears to have reached its peak. NHS chiefs say a fall in the number of people being admitted to hospital is a sign that the flu period is almost over. The service said around 4,000 people in England were admitted last week - a lower number than the previous week.

  • Figures from the Office of National Statistics show that violent crime is on the rise. 14% more crimes were recorded in 2017, totalling around 5.3million offences. The body said that the number of violent crimes had been on the decline since 2011, but in the past three years in the numbers have once again begun to rise.

  • A human fossil found in Israel has led archaeologists to believe that humans left the African continent far earlier than previously thought. The fossil, which is thought to be around 20,000 years old, is twice as old as previous samples found outside Africa.
