Its begun…The Great Robot Apocalypse. Many movies have warned us but we didn’t listen.
No, they aren’t coming to kill us and we don’t need Will Smith. They are however coming for our jobs, because cheap employers only need to pay for a robot once — no weekly or bi weekly paychecks and robots don’t need health benefits, only maintenance and repair.
Recently, fast food chains like McDonalds have decided to experiment to see if they can replace workers with robots. While Mcdonalds isn’t going to replace workers overnight, the transition will happen quicker then a lot of people think.
And that’s not the only business that the bots are coming for they are taking over every aspect of society. They are also headed for the retail business delivering freight – and eliminating truckers. In fact it sounds quite dangerous allowing a freight truck to drive itself. Because there is one flaw to machines – they break down. If the sensors break down on a big rig truck going 60-70 MPH on the Freeway, that’s potentially 40 tons barreling down the highway unattended except to a A.I. that's a safety risk. Automation technology isn’t foolproof either and it can also be exploited by hackers. I also foresee McDonalds and other fast food chains and big corporations like Wal-Mart being robbed by people, losing money from people just stealing the products while a single human attends the machines.
Even doctors could be replaced by surgeon bots. Although, robot surgery has already lead to 144 deaths. Remember, robots malfunction. Robots are also coming for the tech industry and factory work as iPhone manufacturer
Foxconn is replacing a massive 60,000 workers.
Not even journalists are not safe from robot replacements. All this sets a potentially dangerous precedent.We already have a lack of work – what happens when the great robot apocalypse occurs? Things aren’t going to be pretty. With robots taking over our jobs, who will afford these products?One potential solution is to shift away from a monetary economy and more towards a self sustainable resource economy like the proposed “Venus Project.”
But that would require abandoning capitalism. The WEF (World Economic Forum) holds a meeting of world minds every year. They want to get rid of reliance on physical money and shift to a digital economy – but that allows hackers the potential to control the world’s economy – and gives governments unprecedented levels of control. I’ll leave you with a robot that wants to destroy all humans. Laugh it up now, but there’s a reason Elon Musk said artificial intelligence is potentially more dangerous than nuclear weapons.

This is really an interesting and serious topic in my eyes, bringing a lot of problems and thoughts into discussion. Unemployment is already a big concern and everything points to automation.

From my point of view there are at least three possibilities to solve this problem:
Taxes on robot-work while humans who are unemployed get paid from the state by unemployment benefits. (Both things are heavily discussed in German politics right now)
Augmentation technology for humans, to be able to compete with robots or other humans that are already augmented. (This things are coming very fast)
End capitalism and realize, that we have to live in a harmonized way
I would say, that point 3 is highly unrealistic, because I doubt that the elite and politics will do the right thing. What concerns me the most is, that I have the feeling, that nobody is actually asked if they want this, while all this is payed with our taxes.
These are actually the resources of us all, and everybody should think about wanting their children to look like this:
The problem with machines is that they have no conscience. What is wrong with this lawless Soceity. We must usher in the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God is Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost. This is our Hope and the only way to do that is through Sons and Daughters of the Living God. Which starts with the Believers here on the Earth.
I agree, we are living strange days right now. In the end it depends on us all if this future will come. In my opinion there should be massive peaceful protest, when we don't want things to happen. We are one people.
Yes if this world would figure out we are in this together, no matter if we are Jew or Gentile , White or Black or Red, orange or yellow, male or female , we must unite and make a stand for what is right , Life and Life more abundantly. Light always overcomes Darkness. We must Shine in these Last Days.

Great article, when the robots take our jobs the big corporations new biggest money maker will be selling our data...as everything is going to be connected
But blockchain shows me how this will be good for all humanity. Artificial Intelligence won't ever exist, look up Clif Highs reasoning or check my post about it out. Machines will do what we tell them to do except when they malfunction, and that won't happen in an intelligent way.
A.I. already exist in DARPA and the Russian equivalent this was focused solely on robots taking over our jobs.

I agree. Probably around 3-5 years before we start to see a preference of A.I. over humans, but it will happen. Then what? The only jobs left will be A.I. design and maintenance.
This is just the myth of the movies, where they think that robots and skynet will takeover humans, this will never happen, robots will be here to support humans not make them slaves @an0nkn0wledge
I don't think he mentioned robots making us slaves. And robots don't need to totally replace humans in order to significantly affect the number of jobs available to humans. It's business, seeking the most cost effective means of production. Jobs will be lost. The economy will disrupted. Solutions will be needed.

We will not be slaves, but we will not have nearly as many humans in the work force. That is the issue. The trucking industry is the easiest example to use. That tech is only 3-5 years out. Bots don't need to be perfect, only better than us. Sure a few crash, but it will be far fewer than what is current.
Doc bots already out perform nurses and doctors on diagnosing issues. I beleive the report read, nurses get it right 75%, docs 85%, and bots were over 96%.
They are coming, they will replace the human worker, now we have to ask ourselves, what do we do about it?

We will always need men to design the software and control the robots. They are very useful at the factory. We tend to imagine that the machine will become conscious while we are not yet able to explain what consciousness is. There is, for example, no robot-shepherd because it requires human interaction between humans and animals. Characteristics such as emotionality, sensitivity or imagination are symbolic of man and inimitable by machines. The human being is afraid to fade in his own creations. One is fascinated by every technical progress causing both fear and admiration.
Yeah businesses don't care about that they care about cheap labor and productivity.
This is pretty much why the corps./chains have caved somewhat on the 'fight for fifteen' minimum wage...they're simply gonna phase out human employees.

The Mcdonalds aspect is the direct result of the ludicrous push by idiot politicians to buy votes by increasing minimum wage beyond what is sustainable. Once that can of worms is opened there is sadly no going back.
Although judging by the crud under the fingernails of the surly git who served me the last time I was in a fast food joint, I'd rather have a bot prepare my food thank you very much.

I really can't see that the future will need the average working man. Aside from robotics I don't think the 3D printer has as yet realised anywhere near it's potential to dominate vast areas of production. As time progressess I imagine the concept of heliopter cash will be discussed with greater and greater enthusiasm, indeed they're already trials running as I type. A generation drained of tenacity and relying on the benevolence of Government benefactors to pay for every facet of their lives, the loss of self determination .. for me that's a scary thought. Great post, thanks for both sharing and giving me some food for thought.
