MOSCOW - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said it was concerned about mounting military tensions between Israel and Iran in Syria. Bogdanov then urged the two to immediately hold a dialogue to reduce the existing tension.
"It's all very worrying, it causes concern," said Bogdanov in a statement, as reported by Reuters on Thursday (10/5).
As is known, the capital of Syria, Damascus, dihujuni Israeli missiles on a large scale early this morning. The air defense system of President Bashar al-Assad's army is activated to drive down or shoot down Tel Aviv missiles that are raining on Damascus.
The explosion was heard in Damascus as Syria's air defense system drove Israeli missiles. Video footage from the Syrian state news agency SANA, as well as from local residents, showed a flash in the sky of Damascus as air defense missiles raced to intercept the incoming enemy projectiles.
Israeli Defense Force (IDF) spokesman Avichay Adraee claimed a series of attacks on Syria targeting Iran's military base in Damascus. According to him, any retaliation by the Syrian troops will meet with "extreme seriousness".
Israel then declared they had given information to Russia before carrying out an attack on Syria. "Russia has been notified before we carry out an attack with the established mechanisms we have," said Israeli military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricus.
