Armed Cop Was Present During Entire High School Shooting and Did Nothing, Videos Show

in #news7 years ago

An armed officer on campus during last week’s mass shooting in Florida “never went in” the building to confront the killer, the Broward County Sheriff told reporters at a news conference on Thursday.

Sheriff Scott Israel said Deputy Scot Peterson, the resource officer at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, opted instead to take up position outside the building for “upwards of four minutes.”

Asked what Deputy Peterson should have done on that day in which 17 were killed and over a dozen others injured, Israel said the officer should have “went in, addressed the killer, killed the killer.”

In Sheriff Israel’s eyes, Peterson did nothing,” and for that the sheriff suspended the officer without pay and placed him under an internal affairs investigation for failing to meet the requirements of his position.

Peterson then chose to resign, Israel told reporters Thursday. Two other deputies on duty that day, Edward Eason and Guntis Treijs, have been placed on restricted duty while the department reviews their response to the incident.

Sheriff Israel said at the news conference he was “devastated, sick to my stomach. There are no words. I mean these families lost their children. I’ve been to the funerals. I’ve been to the vigils. There are no words.”

Coral Springs police officer Tim Burton, who responded to the February 14 shooting, told the New York Times on Wednesday that he witnessed Deputy Peterson “seeking cover behind a concrete column leading to a stairwell.”

The revelation comes as Donald Trump on Thursday endorsed the idea of arming highly trained teachers to prevent future school shootings, even offering those teachers bonuses for undergoing such training.

Kind of messes up the rightist agenda, if the armed personnel won't engage the threat it defeats the purpose of them being armed in the first place.

And hence another reason as to why we cannot count on the Police. I dont know if the Arming of teachers is the way to go on that. Im personally a fan of private armed security and theres plenty of trained vets out there looking for some meaningful work.

Perhaps the officer was confused and thought the shooting wasn't real, and was part of the drill. Why is there always a drill occurring at the same time as these events ?

Excellent question.

This whole story is fishy. 🐟

Trained police officer, adept with a hand gun, waits outside. I’m not judging the officer because beyond this article, I know little about him or the circumstances.

But arming teachers? ….. With 140 teaching staff in the school, if the suggestion is that 20% are trained to be adept with concealed hand guns, that would have been 28 armed teachers roaming the corridors, each looking for a person with a gun in the same corridors. When SWAT arrive at the school, they’re also looking for a person with a gun in the corridors.

What could possibly go wrong?

A recipe for disaster. I would normally laugh at this, except people seem to seriously consider this option.

Sadly, they will consider every option before even mentioning the real solution. One student posed a great question: So, the armed teacher comes to school each day to educate their students, knowing that should a problem arise, he or she might be asked to shoot and kill one of them before the day's end?

this is why the police aren't RELIABLE no matter how many those in media or progangda think otherwise if they were RELIABLE they would of stop the shooting instantly instead they did NOTHING which makes them UNRELIABLE and totally didn't safe ANYONE from ANYTHING but most importantly why is there a DRILL when the sheriff address that then maybe the narrative will shift but until then i have no conclusion that police will or could STOP the next SHOOTING if they didn't do it here they wouldn't prevent anyone from doing anything otherwise the narrative doesn't fit on the left/right agenda at all and/or TELEVISION progangda it all to suit a narrative and agenda for those in power and those who join police aren't there to secure or SAFE us from uncertain if they did there would be video after video after video evidence of it.

Grr. So yes armed police at every school is clearly the answer. giant eyeroll Also... this gives all of the fuel to all of the conspiracy theories.

can you please explain further for this to come to clarity for me Conspiracy theories has been around for decades and decades but how does this specific incident just a cop not shooting the killer involve CT's?

Because there are numerous conspiracy theories swirling about this shooting. The fact that an armed officer were present and did nothing only adds fuel. He didn't just not shoot the killer.. he did nothing. Why? Perhaps he was afraid, perhaps that was part of the plan. Who knows.. but people who are already critical of every piece of this story will certainly be critical of this piece... right?
