I see no evidence that he's believed in price discovery or a free market at any point in his life, and he doesn't hide his desire to dictate every aspect of government policy on spending. All criticism of him is treated as insurrection. He seeks to isolate the US from the world, much like a sociopath isolates their victim and gaslights them.
I should clarify and say that this is what he tries to be and do, as opposed to what he's actually able to do. Totalitarian communist is an oxymoron, but when it comes to money it's pretty accurate. He want's to drop the purchasing power of the US Dollar by a large amount, which would guarantee massive poverty and government dependence, while at the same time directing most of that money to the oligarchs. It's almost like the collapse of Soviet Russia all over again, except nobody wants to call it for what it is.
