Elon Musk is sending his sportscar to Mars

in #news7 years ago

As you´ve heard. No click bait here. In the next few months Spacex will be launching Falcon Heavy , the most powerful rocket ever made with more than five million pounds(2.3 million kilos) of thrust at liftoff. It will change humanity forever. The launch has been postponed for five years now, but it is expected to take place January or February of 2018. The rocket consists of three falcon 9 first stages strapped together and an upper stage topping the middle booster.

Each first stage booster has 9 Merlin engines, you have got to see those beauties burning.

Its payload, or cargo, is twice as the next rocket ever built, isn´t that soemthing? Spacex will attempt to land all three of the first stages for future reuse, two will be landing at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, and the other one on the "Of Course I Still Love You" drone platform, or droneship, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

The rocket destination will be Mars, yes, you´ve heard it right. Elon Musk said he will consider the mission a success if it only makes it far enough away from the pad that it does not cause pad damage. Since the mission is technically complex, the cargo will be Elon Musk´s Cherry Red 2008 Tesla Roadster Spotscar. Yup! Is there anything cooler than this? I feel blessed and excited to be able to witness this miracle event the same way my father saw the first rocket on its way to the moon. Amazing times lay ahead.

Eventually, I will invest in Tesla and Spacex. Best investments even if they don´t bring dividends.
