RE: Politicians Want to Put Combination Locks on Pill Bottles to Fight Opioid Epidemic

in #news6 years ago

The problem is how Dr’s hand out prescription pain killers like candy and they are incentivized by the pharmaceutical companies to push their drugs. The laws are getting stricter on Dr’s and pharmacy’s that give out all these pills. Kids get addicted from these pills that are so easy to find in the US. All college campuses have Adderall all over the place which is meth in a pill form. The opiates are even worse you could go to a dentist and simply get a Vicodin prescription. Even though the new laws coming out are supposed to be changing that we already have a epidemic in the US with the opioid problem. I agree about what you said about prohibition. When you make it legal you take out a lot of the criminal aspect behind it. The war on drugs is not a war that could be won simply because of the amount of money the illegal drug market makes. You take out one cartel 2 others will fill the void. Its sad they are just overpacking our prisons with non violent drug addicts instead of getting them the treatment they need. And you have these private prisons all over the place making a profit off each inmate. They don’t want to rehabilitate people they want them coming back to make more money.
