Russia is developing the latest supersonic bomber to be tested in August. The modified bombers are claimed to have an accuracy of up to ten times better than the previous type.
The new type of bomber called the TU-22M3M is a modified version of the Tupolev Tu-22M3 bomber that has been frequently used in air strike missions in Syria.
The bomber with the ability to fly the voice speed is equipped with a new generation of deadly missiles.
The new bomber can be navigated up to eight times more accurately, and can fire missiles with an accuracy of ten times more precise than its predecessor type.
The aircraft is also capable of flying up to reach a height of more than 22 kilometers from the ground.
"We intend to bring the TU-22M3M into the air for the first time in August," said one official source.
The modification and upgrading of the bomber's aircraft was made after the deterioration of diplomatic ties between Russia and Western countries, which has been at its lowest since the Cold War.
The director general of the aircraft maker Tupolev said about 30 units of bombers from a total of more than 100 units owned by Russia will be modernized by 2020.
Meanwhile, the rest of the aircraft unit dubbed Backfire-C by NATO will follow modernized afterwards.
The head of the Russian Security and Defense Committee, Viktor Bondarev, said that all electronic devices are being updated.
"The most important thing is that the bombers will be adapted to carry advanced KH-32 supersonic missiles," said Bondarev.
The KH-32 missile is a missile fired from the air to the surface with a range of more than 990 kilometers and can reach speeds of up to 4,900 kilometers per hour and a height of 40 kilometers.
Each of the TU-22M3M aircraft is designed to carry as many as six more sophisticated KH-50 missiles and ensure Russia's long-range combat capability.
