The United States (US) announced it would send its navy to the east coast of the US and the northern Atlantic Ocean.
According to the Ministry of Defense official, the delivery of the Second Fleet was done amid rising tensions with Russia.
The US National Defense Strategy 2018 calls Russia a foul because it imposes its influence on the country.
In 2017, Britain reported Russia to patrol more frequently in the Atlantic Ocean. They allegedly tried to sabotage by cutting the internet cable under the sea.
Admiral John Richardson, US Navy Chief of Operations said, now they are back in an era where regional security is becoming more complicated.
Because it was today (Friday), we sent the Second Fleet to answer the challenge, especially in the North Atlantic.
The Ministry of Defense also announced that the United States has offered to host the new North Atlantic Treaty (NATO) proposal.
The proposal was named Combined Forces Command. The US offers the task force in Norfolk, Virginia. In addition, Washington also undertakes as its leader.
The current NATO focus is the Atlantic in response to the great power competition undertaken by Russia.
Michael continues, the new national strategy priority is to counter the influence of Russia and China. The competition asked us to focus on the Atlantic.
Defense officials highlighted the news that the Kremlin has upped its naval capabilities, especially in the submarine sector.
Moreover, Russian Navy Chief Viktor Chirkov, declared "Red Bear" State to increase patrol patrols by 50 percent in the last five years.
US Navy Secretary Richard Spencer told Congress last April that Russia launched a new submarine whose technology almost rivals the US.
"We are working hard to ensure our submarine technology gap with Russia is not running low," Spencer said.
