Alexander Vinnik is going to be extradited to the US. A District Greek court decided Earlier this morning of today's date. Wed 4th Oct 2017 As long as BTC-e and Vinnik avoid the U.S., however, an indictment or a conviction in absentia would have little impact. At least, that was the case before a series of treaties changed law enforcement relationships around the world. I wonder what will happen in the coming months will he get charged with the alleged charges or will it be passed? What is your verdict? Do you think he will be found guilty or do you think he will have all charges dropped against him?
So if you not read already, BTC-e admin
claims as only a tech guy
It has been indicated by the US grand jury of 21 counts related to financial crimes from being accused of laundering over $4 billion worth of bitocin, including funds stolen from Mt.Gox.
Did everyone get goxed again?.
However that said BTC-e are back with their new domain to and everything appears to be working and running to a point where I have managed to cash out some of my coins not all but about 90% of them without any hassle. If your in the same position if you had crypto in btc-e then make a move over to https://wex.nz/
If Vinnik is found guilty and convicted he faces a term of 20 years or more in prison.
Vinnik allefedly commited these crimes while operating bitcoin excahnge BTC-e. Also he claims he was just the tech guy and denies he was ever employrf by the company for anything else.
Quote from Vinnik
I have nothing to do with what I am accused of,” he reportedly claimed during Wednesday’s hearing.
International law enforcement officials seized the domain BTC-e’back in in July 2017.
However now https://wex.nz is up and running.
Vinnik was arrested by undercover FBI agents soon after while vacationing with his family in Greece. Vinnik decided on refusing voluntary extradition to the U.S., maintaining that, as he is a Russian citizen, he should be tried by a Russian court. Russia at the time submitted an extradition request for separate charges, Vinnik stated he would voluntarily comply with that request. So what where the other charges
However, as reported by the New York Post, a three-judge panel ruled that the U.S. request to extradite Vinnik should be granted. Vinnik is allowed to appeal the decision to the Greek Supreme Court, and he is expected to do so later week.
Previously, Vinnik’s wife told Russian the media outlet RT that she believes the U.S. wants to exploit Vinnik’s intellectual and technical abilities and has concocted these charges.
However, if you did not know that btc-e was also hit with a massive fine by FinCEN but has recently relaunched under new management as WEX.
Now if you are reading this and you are or was on BTC-e I would advise if you have funds if you have not already goto https://wex.nz and get logged in everything remains as was before on Btc-e and see if you can get your funds out or if you want to continue using services then this is your own choice.
Hope you all like and I do hope some of you that are reading this also manage to recover crypto in btc-e if you had funds in. Till next time see you later and thanks for reading.
