After cancelling back in November along with lots of controversies within the Bitcoin community, Segwit2x is back again. Last time when it was about to happen, many Bitcoin miners were against this fork and that's why Segwit2X was cancelled at the last point. But now, it is re-scheduled to be happen on 28th December 2017.
As per the Founder & Lead Developer of Segwit2X, Mr. Jaap Terlouw :
He stated on their site that the fork aims to address issues of “commission and transaction speed within the Bitcoin network,” adding that currently, Bitcoin is “almost impossible to use as a means of payment.”
On the Segwit2X official site, it is mentioned now that Fork will definitely happen on 28th December by the Team.
The founder also promised that along with Segwit2X free coins, all the BTC holders will also get “a proportional number of Satoshi Nakamoto’s Bitcoins as a reward for their commitment to progress.”

Bitstamp < Not officially confirmed
Kraken < Not officially confirmed
Although, I personally like Binance as it supports all the BTC forks without any hassle.
I would advise all the traders to keep their investment in BTC until the fork happens as the free Segwit2X coins will be received without any extra work.
Have caution and use tight stop loss in trading until Fork happens on 28th December 2017.

It would do both with great volatility. 2018 will be an important year for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as well.
