Some are reporting that this move by Japan is to protect Japanese citizens from the impacts of an unregulated crypto market. But many would hope this is not a form of censorship.
The days ahead would tell.
The U.S. charges up to 39% so that is pretty high too. The interesting thing would be to compare how much losses from investments you can deduct from your taxes. Maybe you can claim more deductions in Japan?
