German car large Mercedes-Benz decreased the importation of overseas employees to build their Vance, Alabama-based car plant carrying out a report how Americans tend to be left out by multinational firms.
Inside a CBS News exploration, researchers discovered that during the period of the previous four years, international employees were taken to the states-either on the B-1 or L-1 visa-to load construction careers for the automobile manufacturing plant.
The L-1 visa is ideal for foreign staff who have employment with a multinational firm. The staff are permitted to come to the U.S. after dealing with a corporation in foreign countries for each year. Near 80,000 foreigners are brought in to take careers that People in America would often do.
CBS analysts spoke with Gerald Greiner, an ex - administrator for German builder Eisenmann, exposing how foreign personnel were imported to use construction careers that blue-collar American staff could did locally.
In Greiner's exchange with CBS Reports, he said
"Oh yeah, absolutely. Yes,"
American staff could took the construction careers to make the Mercedes automobile seed in Alabama, but were exceeded over.
Since the inspection premiered, Mercedes-Benz fell Eisenmann as the contracting company they use for building careers in Alabama.
The CBS research uncovered more than 200 typically Eastern Western european, low-wage personnel were taken to the U.S. to execute American construction careers:
CBS News gathered a huge selection of videos and photographs they placed on social marketing proudly revealing their American careers, their work IDs, the amount of money these were making, and the B1/B2 visas that received most of them into the USA. The visa costs significantly less than $200 and allows foreigners to come and go for a decade. Visa holders aren't permitted to work development unless they are simply supervising a job which is not what were happening.
Other research led to a flat in Spartanburg, SC where it came out employees from Slovenia and Croatia were being housed by their workplace local BMW's greatest manufacturing facility on earth, built by making use of more than $250 million in duty bonuses and subsidies afforded to BMW since 1992.
