Hi everyone!
Just a couple of weeks after I informed you about the decision of Prague authorities to demolish the Liben Bridge in this post, I am coming with another sad news on the same topic.

It was recently found out that the railway bridge connecting Prague neighborhoods of Vyton and Smichov is in very bad conditions too and it was already decided that this bridge will also be torn down and replaced with a new one.

Built in 1901, this huge steel bridge is not as famous and important as the Charles Bridge or some other old bridges in the historic center of Prague but its distinctive appearance just under the famous Vysehrad Fortress made it an iconic landmark of the area.
However, despite the indisputable popularity among both local people and visitors, the bridge was actually never named - it was only known as "železniční most" (meaning "the railway bridge").
Please feel free to check out some of my other recent posts.

The bridge looks nice and has a lot of history behind it, but if the engineers have decided it's unsafe, it's probably a good idea to build a new one, no?
Ow, that's terrible. Old bridges are so beautiful, so I'm sad to read this news.
Prague is such a beautiful and inspiring City.
I hope progress doesn't detract from what you have there now.
Of course, sad news hearing it.This bridge Proud and attractive to Czech republic.Other thing is when built time It must had been spent,.Sweat tired,labour,money,....every thing.
you know, change is hard. I am an archaeologist by profession and is always hard to see something old get replaced by something new. What was there before tells us so much about our past.
I remember when I was in Egypt in Alexandria and was watching a construction crew building an apartment complex. They were digging out the foundation and had found a 3rd Ptolemaic temple. I don't even think they waited a week before they had filled it all in with cement so they could finish out the apartment complex. Progress.
@czechglobalhosts, I don't understand why Prague authorities got worst decisions every time. Prague has most tourists attraction. Visitors come there for looking most impressive locations in Czech. I've seen before demolish the *Liben Bridge. Now another bad also probably good decision. Why I told you that? Railway bridge can be not in good condition. bridge will also be torn down and replaced with a new one is good decision to keep tourist attraction better in future. It's almost most old bridge and need to refresh. After with decision I guess more attractive to Prague.
Oh that is really sad news for people of there time to time. That is really great that it was built in 1901 and it has lovely architecture. That is really nice that it could be hold be for this long.Yes it is sad that it is going to be demolish and it for the better meant for people as it can be collapse anytime. As you said it at bad condition so it should be made. Thanks for sharing it with us.@czechglobalhosts
It is really sad to see certain structures that hold historical significance being torn down.
It feels like a part of history known to locals that reside close by is being taken away.
I do understand how you feel @czechglobalhosts.
Wow excellent photography..... Thanks my friend

Hey @almamun, yeah that's excellent photography before torn down. But currently bad situation there. So please make good comment after understood much better. Is itn't you do spam here.
I wonder how the people who are affected by this are being compensated, however a renewal of these structures are very essential as ignoring them now may pose as a detrimental threat to lives tomorrow
How sad, when the bridges are torn down, the history of the city is lost ...
Truly, bridges should be in the best form they can be because the harm that can be caused with a bad condition may be unforgettable.
In my country, eventhough the whole citizens can see that a road or bridge is in bad condition they government still don’t do anything about it. That how we constantly loose valuable life’s every now and then.
So, eventhough it may seem new, it is the best move for the advantage of every citizen.
It can be sad @czechglobalhosts, especially if you're used to seeing the place all your life. But since it needs to be torn down to make way for the building of a new, better one, then it's not much of bad news after all. I just hope they keep the bridge design the same though.
I do believe that people of the Prague should take such decisions of the authorities positively. I am very much sure that they must have some wonderful alternative to this. Offcourse the inhabitants of the region must have some memories wit this wonderful bridge known as železniční most but authorities will reform it in a better way :)
Historical places are difficult to replace given their great history, but when it is time to be replaced for common interest it must be considered.
Like photography @czechglobalhosts
Indeed a sad news for the nation who love the old architect, heritage and culture. Old bridges are amazing but some time for people safety tough decision are inevitable. @czechglobalhosts
