Hi everyone,
It is my great pleasure to inform you about another impressive success of my homeland, the Czech Republic.
The Slav Epic (Slovanska Epopej in the Czech language), a series of 20 large canvases painted by the famous Art Nouveau Czech artist Alfons Mucha, was the third most visited exhibition in the world last year.

The canvases were exhibited at the National Art Center in Tokyo, Japan for three months last year during which they were viewed by more than 657,000 visitors. The only two exhibitions that attracted even more people last were an exhibition of medieval Buddhist sculptures known as Unkei and a Paris exhibition of impressionist and post-impressionist paintings collected by the renowned Russian art collector Sergey Scukin.

The Slav Epic was painted by Alfons Mucha between 1910 and 1928 and it depicts scenes from mythology and history of old Czechs and other Slavic tribes. Until 2012, the series was housed at a chateau in the South Moravian town of Moravsky Krumlov, Mucha´s hometown, but it was then moved to the National Gallery in Prague.

THOSe are some pretty mesmerizing master pieces, just look at the size of the canvas and just imagine the amount of time and detail it would have taken to pain just one paintings, any normal person would go insane plus the creativity, he was one of a kind, and i am glad his paintings got the audience it deserves. Thanks for sharing this fascinating post, love it.
Yep, pretty extraordinary and hard to believe! Alfons Mucha was just simply amazing!
I do not have any kind of an eye for art. In fact steemit is the first place that I have ever had a chance to interact with an artist. With that I have begun to understand somethings about good art.
After taking a look at these Canvases, I can feel what was attracting people to them and obviously enough I did a quick search of Alfons Mucha.
The more I see his work the more I begin to appreciate the attraction of art and paintings.
Great to hear you got some inspiration here on Steemit! That is fabulous!
These are brilliant paintings! As a humble artist, I would love to visit in the future. Thanx for keeping my passion alive with these awesome posts. Hopefully one day I can be just as good. I invite you to come see my artwork.
I just quickly checked your blog for your art work! Great job! Excellent idea to start presenting it here. Once we implement communities here on Steemit it will be easier for you and everyone else to interact with like minded steemians. Wishing you the best of luck! Tomas
Thank you so much, Tomas, for taking the time to drop by! It means a lot to me. Best of luck to you as well!
Always amazing when something so massive and beautiful was able to withstand time itself and be preserved for future generations to see. I had no idea of the scale until the photo with the people in it. Those are truly massive pieces of artworks.
Makes you wonder just how long those took to make. That is truly a labor of love.
Yeah, the the time and effort put into it is just tremendous! Not an easy thing to do!
Well i do believe that Art exhibitions are the biggest source to minimize the negativity and send a positive message around the Globe, a personal opinion. This is really a great news by the way,
Thank you so very much for the wonderful information about the exhibition Tomas :)
Really its true line

Sometimes I wonder, how do these artists think, how do they make such great and magnificent designs.? This is really creative
Just wondering tho.
Really feel like coming into life and different artists studios. Well done, perfect for art lovers.
I'm glad that the public are able to view these pieces. They sure are superb and their size is quite intimidating. On a side note, I've been going through your blog about the #ColorChallenge photography that you share - where may I find entry guidelines to this challenge? I would like to give it a try. Thanks in advance.

I did not understand it because my English was not good.
But I know that you are living in the Czech Republic, and you are introducing some nice paintings on a huge canvas.
Is the picture drawn in the 1920s right? I saw a nice picture.
