American society rewarding psychopaths?
For those who do not remember, Nikolas Cruz was the school shooter who triggered a nationwide debate on gun control. Nikolas Cruz based on all information known displays the red flags heavily associated with psychopathy. On top of this he also tortured animals and displayed all the signs of a developing serial killer. By law Nikolas Cruz was able to acquire a gun and then due to him being a total psychopath he was compelled to commit a mass shooting.
- I did not diagnose Nikolas Cruz as I'm not a psychiatrist or criminologist. I merely state that his behavior resembles the behavior of a psychopath.
Prisoners receiving gifts and letters is a good thing most of the time
In most circumstances I support prisoners rights. In fact, I support the right of prisoners to post on Steem and have Internet access even. But there are different levels of prisoners and some prisoners due to the possible political interpretation of their actions and due to circumstances involved, probably should not be allowed to receive mail. Why is this?
In the case of Nikolas Cruz, he killed innocent students. Even if you do not agree that the students were innocent it does not change the fact that Nikolas Cruz is a serial killer who targeted some of the most vulnerable people in society. The fact that Nikolas Cruz has a fan base should be troubling but what also should be troubling is when a society rewards psychopathic behavior. If a society makes a habit of rewarding psychopaths for violent behavior then just like any other behavior which gets rewarded we can expect to see more of it. So what exactly is the motivation behind people sending Nikolas Cruz money?
Postmarked from all over the United States and Europe, they are from women, girls and grown men. Some are handwritten, others are typed. They are written on college-ruled notebook paper and in fancy greeting cards with cartoons. Some are stuffed with sexually suggestive photos of women and teens in lingerie.
It's coming from all over the world. It's from men and women, it includes money and psychological rewards.
What do you think of this?
It is certainly disturbing, but it is a fact that some women are attracted to male killers. Thus, male serial killers get lots of female attention in forms of love letters etc. It could be lots of evolutionary reasons for this behavior. Some disturbed serial killers have even stated that they killed to 'score with the girls' (hybristophilia). I do not know the case with Nikolas Cruz all that well (and I am not a psychiatrist or a clinical psychologist), but I do not think that most serial killers are psychopaths, because real Ps do not care enough to bother killing people unless they can get away with it or gain monetarily. They are robust people with no need for personal validation.
Ted Bundy seemed like a psychopath to me but I'm not a criminologist.
It is a curious psychological phenomenon, but hardly anything new. Villains have also been heroes since times immemorial.
People play out their darkest fantasies through proxy, whether they're aware of it or not. Even revulsion, if obsessively pursued, is often a repressed wish fulfillment fantasy.
Humans are a complex animal, sometimes quite nasty. Ever seen an angry Chimpanzee? And they are pacifists compared to homo sapiens in its natural habitat of roaming hordes and tribal warfare. Utopians dreaming of a world without hate and violence negate the very basic human nature - we are apex predators with warfare and intra-species rivalry as the primary means of population control and natural selection. We are what we are. Instead of repressing this we should channel those instincts into something beneficial or at least harmless. Sports, video games, arts, fair merit-based competition of any kind. Civilization is all about harnessing and channeling the darker side of humanity to better ends.
It's strange how people who obtain "notoriety" from bad behavior seem to provoke strong reactions in people. And, many people are so unbalanced they think communicating with, or otherwise being involved with, a "famous" criminal or case has anything at all to do with their personal life. It's a side-effect of social media, I think. Everyone thinks their opinions matter, that their input is somehow going to effect the situation. It's not.
No matter how vulnerable, abused, cute, or in need of help these criminals are - which attracts romantic interests from very unhealthy types of people - the fact remains that the criminals' life is essentially over. They will have to face the court and their sentence. In this case, I could see a death penalty or life without parole. It is high drama, and some people thrive on it. Anyone who wants to start up a romance with someone in that circumstance needs to check their head - because they've got some huge problems.
If he had killed his wife he would be getting marriage proposals.
Maybe people are tired of their life situation and silently support the shooter.
Your life sitly ar good
This is sick... He got more than his 5 minutes of fame.
I think we have a very sick society, and a parenting problem.
Part of me thinks this is coming from satanic or luciferian cults... I think I read about this around the time that girl was in the news for wanting to marry charlie manson. cant remember her name, but they wrote a similar article at the time- about groupies for mass murderers.
Low self esteem in itself does not cut it for me, it has to be something more than that. How often do we hear about these couples who murder people together, a husband wife team? Or torturing kids and so on. Especially pedo rings.
Psychopaths and sociopaths abound!
How do we know that the letters are from real people, or paid shills from a Sotis plan. And do we even know if he did the crime? But I agree that those serving time should be more limited in their privileges, provided they are indeed guilty of a crime.
I think it depends on the crime. I think most people serving time should get more privileges. I think in situations where the criminal is a thrill killer or who killed innocent people in a random attack then in these circumstances it's different.
The way i see it is that kid should be sent nothing but anthrax or a stick of dynamite with 1 match
You're right that is not good but I think this is just a symptom of people losing values, culture and morals. The fact they idolize him shouldn't be punished, it's just the fact that many people have a lost satanic, violence worshipping, hedonistic, nihilistic and entitled generational worldview. I think there are many reasons for this... Hollywood, losing spirituality, technology, poor diet, and being poisoned by pharma and our environment all makes us act and think unnaturally without proper balance. At least, that's what I see is the problem,
This just makes me sick and the sad truth is that it isn't just with Nikolas Cruz. Charles Manson had many people that would write him, send him things and even profess their love for him. It just shows what a messed up society we have today. This guy should have never even been given any media time at all. The media wants everyone to know his background story and everything about him because that's what "society" seems to want to know. He doesn't deserve his fifteen minutes of fame or even fifteen seconds of fame.
Women like bad boys, meanwhile silicon valley is full of 40 year old virgins. Forced ascetics. The absence of women (lack of companionship for the forced ascetics (like klebold) or more perverse for the incels (cho, rogers, sodino)), tends to be what fuel most of these mass killers. While the parkland shooting was going on, online forums of incels were cheering him on.
It is not good for man to be alone. He needs interaction with others, especially women. Aristotle felt that what separated man from beast was his ability to use speech and reason. Society itself is very psychotic to people they don't like. Like a flock of chickens who insist on proving dominance by pecking to death the weakest members, only in the case of humans trying to get them to off themselves which is contrary to human nature. and for people it doesn't like they deprive them of speech, reason, and ultimately through ostracism the inabiity to interact with others. They deprive them of their humanity. There is only one way to reclaim your humanity when denied speech and reason, and that is to destroy your masters. As Nasim Aghdam attempted the other day. Only for Cruz, having been expelled, they were no longer his masters. It was likely an act of revenge, if he even done it at all. Most who do leave behind some form of manifesto to create hope for others.
Bullying is a severe problem, but bullying alone is unlikely to result in such chaos. Rather it is perpetual and never ending loneliness. Chronic isolation, especially for gifted people, can mess people up seriously: depression, anxiety, and embitterment. Then when they get put on anti-depressants/anxieties. It wasn't their own mental illnesses that was holding them back. and the removal of their inhibitions means they are more likely to unleash the beast and act on their embitterment they been storing up all their life. As Klebold said on page 482 on the columbine papers, "martyrdom is hope for others". It is also the same page he wrote a poem about how he is a god of sadness, denied the ability to find and have his love, born human but unable to be human. That resonated with so many, and created the Columbine culture.
Cruz is a rare survivor. So he gets to live both as a bad boy, and to some extent he has the support of the incels, and there are those who are driven to him by his fame. If he is able to get out of his legal situation through a finding of not guilty, or an NGRI (and release), the kid will likely never be alone again.
