RE: Meta’s Threads off to a good start. Metaverse swapped for the Fediverse.

in #newslast year

Some are switching in search of a different atmosphere and mood that would be more reminiscent of how they perceived Twitter before its takeover in 2022

You mean different content mederation policy? ;)

Basically, I don't give a broken fuck how are they going to name or pack it. As long as it's centralized bullshit it's just rich guys desining our social life online in a way that profits them. Not cool.

Yes, that's exactly it but I decided to frame it more neutrally ;]] Some Twitter users claim their feed is now grumpy, that "Twitter is not the same" . Obviously that's because many feel nowadays its not appropriate to express any form of happiness or positivity on Twitter :D Which stems from their attitude towards Elon Musk, so yeah in the end it all boils down to moderation policies and such.

A lot of crypto people are upset that Fediverse is yet another concept that's being appropriated and absorbed by Big Tech. Threads are supposed to be decentralized and are ran on ActivityPub protocol.

Ahh, 2 minutes with Google and I already smell the bullshit :D Well, apparently after Web 2.0 comes Web 2.5 :)

BTW, even the name Threads is appropriated from crypto, however this might be jsut by accident. Have you checked LeoThreads, short form content platform built on Hive?
