For as long as I have followed politics it has been crystal clear to me that the Democratic party is a weak, spineless, bought, and incompetent political party. There is endless examples of this whether in 2010 when the Democrats had a SUPER MAJORITY in the senate, control of the house, and the presidency with the base of the party wanting a single payer health care system or at the very least a public option it seemed like we were finally going to catch up with the rest of the modern world and have a health care system that will work for every American. Instead the Democrats ended up caving to right wing Opposition and couldn't even keep their own caucus together and what we ended up getting was a individual-mandate system which keeps the awful private health care providers in control of the market and was a plan first proposed by Nixon and also by the Heritage Foundation - which is a right wing organization, and health care in the US is barely better than it was before with 45,000 people a year still dying because they lack basic care and 29 million still uninsured and who do you got to thank for that? The Democrats.
Or in the 2016 presidential election the DNC (which we now know through the Podesta emails and Donna Brazile was being funded by Hillary's campaign) decided to override the will of the people and give the nomination to Hillary Clinton who was a corporatist war-monger of the worst kind, who was for TPP, Intervention in Syria, voted for the Iraq war, and the Patriot Act. Hillary did not represent the base of the party and ran a laughably bad campaign which was basically all platitudes and no policy and abandoned the rust belt states, and I think we all know how that turned out...
Now that the Republicans control everything they have been implementing their draconian policies as expected, and have been smashing the so-called "resistance" to bits whether it be appointing cabinet officials like Scott Pruitt or Betsy DeVoss , who have no business being anywhere near government, let alone the head of an agency, or appointing a ridiculous theocrat to the Supreme Court, ripping up Net Neutrality, passing massive tax cuts to the 1% , and the latest ass kicking the "resistance" has taken with the new budget where Democrats gave Trump everything he wanted and then some, especially for the Pentagon budget. Now that the Democrats are out of power you would think they would be fighting as hard as they can to get back control of the government, maybe a good start would be blasting the very unpopular tax bill non-stop and get the support of their base around a strong message that the Republicans and Trump are slashing taxes for the top 1% but over the next 10 years they will increase taxes on people making $75,000 a year , but we will abolish this terrible plan and make sure the billionaires pay their fair share.
Sounds like a strong message that every middle class American can get behind right? but guess who doesn't think so the Democrats. In an article by the Intercepts Zaid Jilani senate Democrats Tim Kaine, Brian Schatz, and Jon Tester are quoted as saying,"Not Yet" when asked if Democrats are thinking about a repeal and replace tax plan, Jon Tester having the worst response saying,"There are a lot of things that could be changed in that, but I don’t see any effort to do any of those things, I think we’ve got what we’ve got for the next 30 years.” Really you don't see any effort in changing the unpopular tax bill thats going to hurt the American people and bleed middle class families dry and give every fucking break to the rich, you don't see how the left is loosing hope in the Democrats day by day because of bullshit like this. Also is that what the Republicans said about Obamacare,"We got what we got", no they did not they got in front of every camera they could and hammered it day after day after day which got their base to rally behind it to sweeping victories in the 2010 and 2014 mid terms and eventually complete dominance of government in 2016. The Democrats are unbelievably broken which is why we need to fight for a third party, or support groups like Justice Democrats because if we stay the course and keep voting for the lesser of two evils we will never get to a point where we can bring the change many Americans desperately need.
