The origin of the flour tortilla is found in the sixteenth century during the conquest. It was the conquerors who introduced the wheat to these countries. According to history, in 1542, the Spaniards did not find ingredients to prepare bread, for which it has been used for centuries.
Many years later a dish appears in Mexico that fills a flour tortilla with meat. This dish was called a burrito.

Ingredients
1 ½ cups of flour (180 g)
1 teaspoon of salt (5 g)
2 tablespoons of lard (30 g)
2 teaspoons baking powder (10 g)
1 ½ glasses of water (300 ml)
Preparation mode
In a bowl, mix the flour, salt and baking powder.
Then, add the butter with your fingers and keep moving until boronas are formed.
Add water and mix until the dough comes together.
Sprinkle a surface with wheat flour and place the dough you have prepared. Start kneading until you get a soft, elastic dough.
Separate the dough into 24 balls.
Heat a tortilla pan (comal) over medium high heat.
Use a roller to crush the balls and turn them into the circular shape.
Place your raw tortilla on the comal and wait for it to turn golden on both sides. You must turn it before the extreme heat burns it.
If you have left over tortillas, keep them wrapped in a blanket so that they keep their freshness. If the tortilla is exposed to the environment for a long time, it can be spoiled.
