Blockchain technology is fast becoming one of the most useful technologies in the world, being applied in various industries such as banking, medical and supply chain leveraging their unique capabilities.
The latest industry to embrace Blockchain technology is aerospace. Accenture's Director of Aerospace and Defense, John Schmidt, recently identified Blockchain as the next major innovation in aircraft maintenance during the Paris Airshow 2017.
The difficulty, according to Schmidt, with maintaining the engine, for example, is that the data for the engine is not stored in a single accessible location, making improvements and evaluations difficult.
Due to the unique advantages of Blockchain technology, the information can be disseminated to new maintenance engineers, providing faster and more reliable response times for repairs, and a more concise history of engine maintenance.
