RE: Major news outlets labeling Russel Brand defenders as "conspiracy theorists"

what an absolutely amazing response. I wish I could upvote you several times and after looking at your profile it is a damn shame you don't post more often than you do. I hope that the rise in commenting indicates that you actually will pen some of your own stuff again because he have a gift with the words.

I can't disagree with anything you have written above and you make some excellent points especially about the Joe Rogan stuff. He never really attempted to "clear his name" it just kind of happened for him because hopefully people really are in the mindset of "we don't care."

I would imagine a character assassination was probably in the works for Joe as well but from what I have read that dude is basically squeaky clean.

we didn't have to listen to a discredited and globalized dystopian governmental engine, no matter what each of us as individuals actually believed when it came to the realities of the pandemic and related treatments.

I certainly hope that a lot more people are believing that they are discredited, I know that I and most of the people I know feel that way.

Thank you for your kind words!

I'm a longtime FOSS advocate, systems administrator and engineer. My major development days are behind me now though, and the incoming talent is on par with what the old, old-timers thought of me many years ago.

I've been a proponent of Fediverse (not Mastodon) platforms emerging nowadays, and do write about in the Fediverse, have a Matrix room dedicated to it with members there, but most of what goes on there is known as "sh**posting" and hit and run comments with links. I like longform and reading actual stories, and so I'm trying to get back into a mode where I can do that here again - it seems folks here value the story, not just notions.

The problem is, I'm conflicted as to what I can actually find as a niche or two. I lived completely off-grid for six years in Humboldt, and now that I'm back in Los Angeles, have the time to pursue these endeavors; but people here aren't (I don't think) all that interested in the internals of high tech software.

I'm looking again for a couple of groups here where there may be an audience for some of the things I might find interesting to write about - software would be nice, but there's so much more.

In the meantime, yes, I am back and intending to participate and enjoy a place where people's personal interests and current events are valued, or at least things interesting enough that folks would like to read over breakfast and coffee.

Again, thanks for your kind words and I guess now I really need to look into the culture here and become involved in an earnest way :)

I love the editors here at ecency and peakd, and short of deploying a Wordpress or Ghost site there aren't many platforms that I can say that about - a good, Markdown capable editor interface is important to me, and I'm toying with the idea of short biopics on historical figures and communities - there's so much we don't know about the places where we live - places so rich with fascinating facts and tales...

I guess I need to do more research into what might be appreciated by the readership and groups relevant to subject matter that I can address enthusiastically.

All the best!

Bradley
