Yeah but that 40 also includes comments. I up vote comments to encourage discussion. Right now I just leave it at 1% to keep from blowing through my voting power because I am talking to people a lot. A lot more micro-managing is required since HF19 and it is not due to the linear curve. It is due to this 10 vote thing.

I don't like it when things get complex for no reason but 10 votes is better for new users. They will crack the $0.01 in upvote power much sooner. You can also just Steem for an hour a day without your voting power piling at 100%.
I've actually had a lot of new users complaining about how the 10 votes and current method is making it so they run out of votes really quick, and they don't even have access to the slider so all of their votes are at 100%.
So I would say there are new users that are finding it the opposite.
As long as this is in place the slider should be unlocked by default for all users. In fact, that's probably worth doing whether it remains this way or not.
there is no good reason to argue against a slider for all. I like the 4x voting power but well I guess voting power has regulated itself to 1/4 of what it was at the beginning of HF19...
Yeah... basically what the 4X is amounts to if the slider could have gone up to 400% before HF19 (if things were linear... so this is discounting the linear aspect and is purely a fictitious example). I'd be fine with it just being X. Sure I'd be able to reward less to one person, but I could still do 100% and I could spread it around to a lot of people. I can do that now as long as I remember to set it to 25%.
Maybe they could make just an additional option field where you can put a number between 10 and 100 and that is the amount of full votes you want to have per day.
