On Facebook I follow a man named Justin King, he is a journalist, editor, activist, and among other things (and in his own words) a convict. His media outlets tend to report on things the more "main stream" media won't, like police killing civilians, the true impact of Americas foreign policy, scandals involving those the media won't harm, and more.
Over two hours ago Justin posted on facebook, "Got a request from a church in Phoenix to help organize some protection for a feed the homeless campaign. Let me know if you have any contacts open carry activists in AZ."
This was shortly followed by other posts on the subject 1 If you complained about your Christian religious freedom because of a wedding cake, explain why you're silent as cops in Phoenix stop those feeding the homeless. Do you need Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly to tell you your religious duty?
"For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’"
And 2 I'm going to encapsulate what happened this morning in a headline:
Church in Phoenix asks convict to protect them from police so they can feed the homeless.
Let that sink in. That's America today
I honestly don't have much to add, I mean, I am hardly surprised by this as cops have been notorious in breaking up food drives in the past, and arresting those helping the needy.
However I would like to draw attention to The Fifth Column,
and perhaps more importantly, to the churches request, which comes from Phoenix Arizona, and asks for protection from the police. Those practicing open carry are preferred, as are anyone who the cops would be less likely to harass, arrest, or assault.
