I can see this being a 666 mark of the beast deal for the Christians among us. Unlike most cybernetic modifications, the implants don't modify the natural human form so I suspect that they will be more acceptable to many people. Not for me. I'd rather risk forgetting my card or keys thanks.
I suspect that the next generations will make a different decision because of the convenience of having the implants. I'm trying to slow the adoption of this technology de facto becoming the only payment system by ocassionally dealing in cash.
There are some security concerns about the implants themselves. One popular counter argument to the implants is that your phone is a much snoopier device. My counter argument is that I can leave my phone at home.

Totally agree with you on the phone's - even cars to a degree - I just can't imagine these implants which seem pretty basic at the beginning - not beginning to have nefarious intentions
I don't think great evils begin with nefarious intent.
i think at this point - for the most part they are innocent - but eventually the technology will generate corruption in people - at which point I have no desire to be implanted...
