Really appreciate the way you broke this down. And I think with the recent disclosure form former Google and Facebook employees about the built in addictive nature of social media, you have touched upon an important angle to the story.
Slowly, I am weening myself away from Facebook. So far, I am down to checking it once a week on my Macbook. But, I took it and messenger off my phone.
But, I have seen my self-imposed obscurity from mobile facebook bite me in the ass. I told some actors to text me when they got to a set for a short film I was shooting. They used messenger. Ended up finding them. But, later had to explain that when I say "text me", I mean with your phone number text app and not, messenger. Weird and sad.
