Yes, Samsung is releasing their new Note earlier next week and I'm excited. Why? Is Bigger Better?
Here's my breakdown of the Pros and Cons of the Samsung Note 7 from the prospective of an exciting Samsung s7 Edge owner.
Here are the rumored Note 7 specs:
5.7-inch screen
12-megapixel camera
5-megapixel front-facing camera
IP68 certified against water and dust
64GB of space expandable through a microSD card
USB Type-C port; Quick Charge 3.0
4,200mAh battery
Black, silver, blue colors
First, the Cons:
#1 Money - I will have to sell my relatively new Samsung S7 Edge which is in great condition
#2 Bigger - Bigger can be a negative when carrying around with you. 5.7" vs. 5.5" (S7 Edge). Easier to Drop?
#3 Samsung TouchWiz and Bloat. Android experience. If you think the iPhone 7 and iOS 10 is going to be great in Sept. 2016. However, rumor has it that "Grace" will appear on the new Note.
#4 USB-C - While great in theory, who owns any USB-C devices or cables?
#5 Bigger battery - Bigger screen more power not sure if it'll last longer than the S7 Edge. (3600mAh)
#6 Snapdragon Processor - Not sure if this is a negative but the current Samsung S7 Edge Octa Core is smooth.
Second, the Pros:
#1 Bigger - Screen size is great for viewing content and photos.
#2 Stylus - I love to draw. More diagrams and visual messages.
#3 Battery Life - Bigger display but a battery to match. Plus the fast charging of USB-C
#4 "Grace" OS layer - Better for gestures and interaction with device. TBD
#5 USB-C - Appears to be the future interface for fast charging but also there are specs that USB-C devices can charge each other. This would be nice.
Lastly, here are the current specs of the Samsung S7 Edge. What do you think ? Did I miss any?
