Homosexuality: LGBT is still a taboo subject in Kenya

in #news7 years ago

Today the CEO of the Kenya Film Classification Board issued a statement instructing Multichoice and GoTV both owned by Multichoice, a South African pay TV network to discontinue airing of some Cartoon Network programmes eg Adventure time and Legend of Korra as well as some aired on Nickelodeon eg Loud House. The reason for this is they claim these programmes are promoting homosexuality in Kenya.

Homosexuallity is a very sensitive subject that is almost considered a taboo. There has been cases of angry religious leaders and village elders stopping meetings where LGBT people had gathered. LGBT are actually ostracized and discriminated against when in comes to the work place, family , as well as even being denied medical care.
