Jared Kushner, a key adviser to President Donald Trump, released a statement today that was provided to congress with regard to his meeting with Russian representatives prior to the election. In the statement he denies collusion or an organized effort to undermine the electoral process.
According to Kushner, the "ambassadors" he met with were interested in developing a relationship with the Trump organization after the election if he was successful. He states he spoke with several individuals in turn for "less than a minute" each and accepted business cards.
President Trump has repeatedly denied knowledge of this meeting and the advisors involved say that because the meeting was not productive or relevant to the campaign, they didn't feel the need to share the details.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller is investigating, along with the FBI, DOJ, and Congress.
