RE: Steemit WILL Go Mainstream, One Way or Another!

in #news8 years ago

If I wasn't already using Steemit and seeing it function exactly as advertised, I would likely write it off as vaporware.

I hope the approval process for new accounts is going to be sorted out soon. This is the only thing holding it back, although I'm not sure what scaling challenges it will face.

out of curiosity, what do you think causes the instinctual reaction that its vaporware? very interesting opportunity to learn for marketing language

Almost everything in crypto is vaporware and devoid of users.

So when I tell them that there is a functioning social network, with a user base, and everything is stored in the blockchain, which transfers everything free and fast, and everyone's getting paid, and it's actually an amount 1st worlders would care about....

My experience is that it takes a good 10mins attacking their skepticism. But afterwards, they're on the waitlist, for sure!

I suppose at this stage you have to be over average curios on technology, making money and cryptos to get into steemit. The whole " make money for free just writing" is something most people cant comprehend. And most people dont have a well functioning "bullshit" radar. For most people that are groomed by mainstream media EVERYTHING is now a "scam" or "fake news". They have been "told" not to trust anything, and the will just laugh off everything as nigeria scams etc. Most people think bitcoin is a scam. They have noe clue. And these people wont adopt even long after the msm has gotten interested. But as we can see with bitcoin and even ethereum..msm are now writing about it in not only negative words. But I suspect it will take years before we see a mainstream adoption of Steemit. Which is good. It should take a long time. The growth has been amazing anyway. And the early adopters will be getting what they deserve.

Compared to most cryptocurrencies, Steemit is a living breathing ecosystem. The rest are lifeless coins, but Steemit has the most fantastic userbase. You're right, you can't beat free, near-instant and easy transactions of cryptocurrency.

thanks @gigafart

Yeah, I agree -- if it was just based on potential only and no real returns, than I would have also written it off!
