Teaching Kids To Be Gay

in #news7 years ago

The LGBTQ community’s main talking point is that you’re “born gay”. It’s a compelling narrative, and you hear it repeated everywhere. However, there’s just one problem according to the APA Handbook of Sexuality and Psychology, we are not “born that way”. Here’s a few quotations from the article. “Research on sexual minorities has long documented that many recall having undergone notable shifts in their patterns of sexual attractions, behaviors, or orientation identities over time.” and “The American Psychiatric Association and the American Psychological Association recognize transgender identity fluctuates, and the vast majority of gender dysphoric minors will eventually accept their chromosomal sex.”

This means homosexuality and gender identity change with the environment. Eventually, “Over time, more bisexual and mostly heterosexual identified young adults of both sexes moved toward heterosexuality than toward homosexuality…for both sexes, a heterosexual orientation identity was the most stable.”. This means it’s more likely for children who are bisexual (which is a larger group than homosexuals) will later become straight in adulthood. Which makes straight people the norm.

So why is the research largely unknown? If this is the scientific literature, why isn’t this being taught? Power plays by its own rules, and groups tend to take on a life of their own. With every new LGBTQ member the group acquires they gain more power and influence. It is in the LGBTQ community’s best interest to grow their membership any way they can. Converting people to their lifestyle is a viable option for increasing their numbers.
Some of the factors that influence sexual orientation would be childhood sexual abuse, absent parents, early environmental experiences, and choice. With early environmental experience. If you can provide the experience of acting as the opposite sex you will have a greater chance of influencing sexual orientation. However environmental influence on sexual orientation is not being taught. Which is ironic because the programs create an environment that facilitates change for some children’s sexual orientation. It would also give them a solid defense against any accusations that they’re taking advantage of children.

Looking at the children’s book 10,000 dresses by Marcus Ewert. It’s “A modern fairy tale about becoming the person you feel you are inside. While Bailey dreams of beautiful dresses, no one wants to hear about it because he is a boy. Then an older girl comes along who is inspired by Bailey and they make beautiful dresses together.” The book is designed for children grade 1-3 and is part of Gender Expansive Lessons and Books.
Reading to children changes their brain activity. In an F(MRI) study children’s brain activity was observed and here is what they found. “Our findings suggest that illustrated format provides visual scaffolding that assists the language network and encourages active imagery and self-reflection in young children.”. Again, emphasizing that last part. Encourages active imagery and self-reflection in young children. You now have the child imagining themselves in the story where a boy feels like a girl. If reading alone wasn’t enough to get the children to imagine themselves in the story, the Equality and Diversity Lesson Plan that accompanies the book will. In the Second Level area in the lesson plan “Thinking about the clothes that stereotypically boys and girls wear, create a Venn diagram in small groups which identify the clothes that ‘boys wear’, ‘girls wear’ and ‘both wear’. Share the Venn diagrams with the class to create a class Venn diagram.

Looking at a section from the third level. Reflecting on the way that Bailey’s family reacted, in pairs take one of the characters Mum, Dad or Brother. Following the interaction with the family member, re-create the next scene where Mum, Dad or Brother react positively. Re-write the page, creating a new dress for Bailey where Bailey is accepted. As you can see these role-playing exercises are getting the child to engage ideologically with the material and directly act out the scenes in the book. Remember this increases the likelihood the child will have a homosexual orientation. As one of the four factors covered earlier is early environmental experience which includes an earlier pattern of behavior somewhat like that of the other sex.

Now two other factors that influence sexual orientation development are childhood sexual abuse and absent parents. The Los Angeles LGBT center is able to find children with childhood sexual abuse and absent parents by providing housing, food, education, counseling, and more to homeless young people age 12-24. Includes lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning. Not only do homeless youth not have a parental influence around, but sexual abuse has been found to be associated with homelessness.
Then, as far as choice goes, all you have to do is make one choice more appealing and people will pick it more often. There is a lot of social reward associated with “coming out”. You are “brave” or “strong” for bucking the heterosexual trend and fighting against the discrimination of heteronormativity.
