Mamoudou Gassama, a 22 year old man from Mali, known now as the Malian Spiderman after he saved a kid in Paris.
This happened the 26th of May, the kid was left alone as his dad who should've been looking after him, left the house to go shopping and was played pokemon go on the way home. The kid had already fallen 15 feet when he was hanging on for dear life. Mamoudou saw him and started climbing, he climbed 4 floors in 30 seconds before he reached the kid, then he pulled him to safety. There were some neighbors in the apartment where the kid was hanging on but they couldn't reach him.
The video after being posted went viral, and after all the coverage it's had in the media the french president announced that he would give him a French citizenship and a job at the local fire brigade.
When Mamoudou met with Macron he told him how he arrived to France without any papers and was smuggled in, he said that from Mali he went through Burkina-Faso and Nigeria. When he arrived at Libya he was one of thousands to pay a people smuggler and had to cross the Mediterranean sea by boat.
After meeting with Macron he was honored with a certificate for his courage and dedication signed by Paris Police Prefect Michel Delpuech.
This goes to show that migrants should be welcomed if they have papers or not, we should never judge a book by its cover.
