China propelled a hand-off satellite on Monday as a major aspect of a momentous program to be the first to arrive a shuttle on the most distant side of the moon in the not so distant future.
The satellite, hurled into space on board a Long March-4C rocket, will encourage correspondence between controllers on Earth and the Chang'e 4 mission, the China National Space Administration said on its site.
China plans to end up the principal nation to delicate land a test on the moon's far side, otherwise called the dull side since it faces from Earth and is relatively obscure.
The satellite, named Queqiao, or "Jaybird Bridge," after an old Chinese society story, was propelled from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the southwestern territory of Sichuan, the Space Administration said.
