It's not a physical coin. The news refers to people purchasing bitcoin via the bitcoin atms available in Singapore instead of via the more conventional online means that the crypto community uses. That suggests these buyers are probably new to cryptos and are hoping to buy in cheap due to the recent crypto slump and from there earn a huge profit.

Yeah these customers are likely new adopters who prefer the easiest route to market. Points of entry such as these ATMS will be crucial when it comes to mass adoption.
