Latest weather chart shows Britain to be hit with barrage of snow in DAYS

BRITAIN is braced for another barrage of snow as weather forecast charts show more white stuff could sweep across the nation in days. The UK was hit by freezing weather systems last week and parts of the country are still reeling from the so-called ‘Beast from the East’ and Storm Emma.

And the latest weather forecast maps show winter is still not over as more snow is forecast to hit the UK next week.

The chart shows there is a higher probability of snow next week, particularly for northern parts of the country.

The new forecast of long-term snowfall will increase expectations that Britain could experience a 'White Easter,' which would further delay the arrival of Spring.

Professor Tore Furevik, of the University of Bergen in Norway and a director of Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research, warned last week that the heavy snowfall could "last until late March or even early April".

The Met Office’s long-range forecast for Tuesday 13 March to Thursday 22 March warns the UK could still see more snowfall, but rain for most of the country is more likely.

It reads: “It will be fairly unsettled through next week, with outbreaks of rain at times, heaviest in the west and southwest of the UK where gales are possible too.

“There is a risk of snow over northern hills, but temperatures will be around normal for the time of year with frost and fog possible overnight.

“The unsettled conditions will remain through the rest of the period, with further spells of rain, interspersed with brighter and showery interludes.
