High School Revitalization 1 do not disturb historical buildings
Banda Aceh - Acting Governor of Aceh Nova Iriansyah called for the revitalization and construction of the State Senior High School (SMAN) 1 Jeumpa Puteh, not to disturb the main building which is full of historical value.
This was conveyed by the man, who is also an alumni of SMAN 1 Jeumpa Puteh, in his remarks shortly before laying the first stone of the revitalization and construction of the mushalla of SMAN 1 Jeumpa Puteh, Banda Aceh, Monday (08/20/2018).
"The main building is a building that must be preserved. I hope the revitalization does not interfere with the main historic building. In the future, we can develop SMAN 1 into a means to remember the past that we can develop into a tourist destination," said Nova. As is known, the initial building of SMAN 1 Jeumpa Puteh was a Dutch heritage that had existed since 1878. In the past, this building was used as a gathering place for Dutch thinkers. Since September 1, 1946, this building was functioned as Banda Aceh State 1 High School, and then equipped with a number of classrooms inside.
As the oldest school in Aceh, SMAN 1 Banda Aceh has become a favorite school with a myriad of achievements. One of the proudest achievements was when the Directorate of High School Development in the Ministry of Education stated that SMAN 1 Jeumpa Puteh was one of the reference schools of 614 high schools in Indonesia, in 2016. "That means, this school has exceeded the National Education standards set by the Government. I hope this achievement should be maintained so that this school will continue to be one of the best in Indonesia," added the Alumni of SMAN 1 in 1982.
The Acting Governor revealed that the redevelopment budget for SMAN 1 has been budgeted in APBA 2018 with a total cost of around IDR 20 billion. The budget will be used to build school buildings and study rooms as many as 24 new classes. In addition, there are also laboratories, teacher offices, and various other supporting facilities.
In his remarks, the Acting Governor also advised that the children of students could understand the teaching and learning system that must change and some disturbances that arise during the development process.
"Believe me, this process takes place not too long. If it is finished, the learning situation will be more comfortable because the facilities are more complete. With the presence of a new building, we believe this school is able to record even better achievements, so this school can always boast the Government and Acehnese people.
As the oldest school in Aceh, Nova appealed to alumni and all Acehnese people to support the smooth construction of this school, so that SMAN 1 Banda Aceh would be better prepared to meet the new era as an environmentally friendly school, complete with learning facilities, as well as the best in education management and processes for students.
