The Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities, ASUU,have called off their indefinite strike which lasted for a month and six days. According to the union, the strike was only suspended to ending of October and would continue if their demands aren't met. They advised lectures to resume work immediately.
When the news was sent to my school group chat,it raised series of discussion, some were glad but most people wasn't. The over serious ones started asking for materials for the new semester. I observed people's comments and wondered why I felt indifferent, if the strike continues or comes to an end,I care less, not because I am a carefree person.
I WILL TELL YOU WHY
When the strike was first announced, I felt really bad. I was ready to go to school and had set out plans, only to hear that ASUU was going on an indefinite strike. I felt was going to be bored at home and have my days burn away, I was wrong.
During this short period, I achieved a lot of things
1.Read books outside academics
2.Started bittrex trading(am not new to crypto tho)
3.Joined Steering
5.Hanged out with friends and spent time with family
6.Went to Cinema for the first time (covers face) 4.Made new friends (thanks to #Euronation)
All these I know I wouldn't have achieved if I was in school at that time but there is more to it, if the strike had not taken place, I wouldn't have felt there was something I was missing, would have probably been fixing a machine in school happily.
Once upon a time in my life, I get worried over anything, it didn't take me too long to discover that I was digging my own grave. life is full of surprises and constant change, whatever it throws to you, catch it and turn it into what you deserve. There is no wrong or right place, we are the ones to decide what we want to see as wrong or right. Whatever opportunity that knocks at your door, make the best of it. Stop demanding and fusing over everything, make do with the available.
I have gotten used to waking up by 10am during this break but in few days now,we would be rushing to class by 7am to fill the class room.
I would try my best to ensure that grass doesn't grow here like my 2go account, will keep doing what i know how to do best, brighting peoples day through writting.
keep spreading the gospel of Steemit
I don't know if anyone would pick something reasonable from this but just had to share

As a Ph.D research student , there is another hectic academic year ahead of me. That is why I have

Cheers.Amen, to your prayers for me, dear, @amec. Yes, the incessant strikes is not convenient at all for Nigerian students.
