Last night after the Super Bowl there were riots in both the winning and losing team's cities, and while they did get some media attention, the attitudes towards these riots were much different than the attitudes towards riots that break out during protests, and I have a theory as to why this is.
When I see coverage of sports riots, it's usually minimal, and the newscasters never call them thugs or a danger to society, but when people are pissed off for an actual reason, it gets national coverage around the clock and the people in the streets are totally vilified, I've never seen that type of reaction to a sports riot.
When people riot for fun or in celebration, it is senseless violence, which in my view, makes it harder to understand and harder to justify than someone using violence because they are frustrated with the state of society. This is not to justify the actions of rioters who hurt people and damage property, but the media seems to have a double standard here.
When someone is mad at society and they use violence the media freaks out, and acts like they are the scum of the earth and there is no possible way we can understand their motivations, but when people riot over sports or something like that its just a "celebration" or guys being guys and they are not anaylzed in the same way, they are given a pass.
I believe that the reason for this is because the ruling class is not threatened by the idiots in the streets rioting over sports, but they are threatened by people rioting for political reasons, and the ruling class controls the media so what threatens them is portrayed as a greater evil than something that doesn't threaten them.

there seemed to be quite a bit of coverage about the riots although I didn't click on it, who isn't less concerned about people rioting because they are happy as opposed to because they are angry? The other thing to consider is that sports riots end when everyone sobers up so they don't last more than a day.
It's almost like they encourage sports riots or something... particularly the violence with football.
It's just those boys blowing off steam, you know.... cathartic.
When there have been many, many studies on the subject in philosophy and works like Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and Swami Vivekananda's works that say the exact opposite - that acting out violent tendencies only gives rise to more violent tendencies, and that the end goal is to sublimate and transform, not express, undesirable and/or harmful emotions and thoughts.
Modern psychology has it backwards, and I think it's on PURPOSE, as with a great many other things!

Yeah..you nailed it brother, it ain't the sports protesters that the ruling class' afraid of..if they considered them a threat, the nations power squad would have quicky banded together to stop the kneels during the national anthem..i think they consider them to be a joke honestly, a joke and a sporty social class right here in america..maybe as a group to target for use in throwing up a false flag one day? Trigger a juicy riot? Who knows. The top dogs like to find the most expendable class in america that they can use as example setters for the rest of the popation., keep em front n center for when shit hits the fan..after which, all the sheep's will be led to slaughter by those in power..maybe, shit, who really knows.
