Cristiano Ronaldo returns to the starting line-up after being rested in the shock defeat to Espanyol on Tuesday. The Portugal superstar continues to show superb goalscoring form despite Real's struggles in the league in 2017/18.

With 28 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions, the forward will no doubt be highly motivated to get Los Blancos back to winning ways on home soil.

Angel's form in front of goal has contributed to an impressive return to Spain's top flight with the Spaniard scoring 11 times in 22 league appearances for Azulones.

The 30-year-old recently got his name on the scoresheet in the 3-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna last Wednesday. With the home side struggling at the back in this campaign, the forward could be in line to profit.

Despite trailing league leaders Barcelona by 15 points, Zinedine Zidane still holds the belief that a title challenge is possible. After a surprise defeat to Espanyol in the week, the Frenchman expects a strong response from his side.

He said: "You think that the league is over for us but football is like that and every league match is important. The title will go down to the wire and we'll fight until the end. It's difficult but not impossible. I'm an optimist until the end.

"We're angry about losing on Tuesday and I'm even more so after Barcelona's draw yesterday (against Las Palmas). You have to be focused until the very last minute and we're not giving in."

Meanwhile, the visitors are in 10th place and beat Deportivo 3-0 in their last match.A recent 0-0 draw with Barca also sees the club from the Madrid metropolitan area buzzing with confidence.

Nonetheless, boss Jose Bordalas expects a tough test against Real, saying: "We always think about making a good game, but we know that to get something from there you have to touch perfection.

"Real Madrid is one of the best teams in the world; we are aware of what we are and the difficulty of the match. Surely they can not afford to reap a second defeat, therefore, they will be a very dangerous team."

Real have Marcelo available after he recovered from a hamstring injury while Jesus Vallejo also returns after overcoming an injury he picked up in January against Leganes.

Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are still sidelined and may not be fit to face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League next week.

For Getafe, goalkeeper Vicente Guaita should come back from a knock to start on Saturday, but midfielder Markel Bergara is injured while striker Amath Ndiaye is banned.
