Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) urged members to strengthen ties with mutual trust, respect, discipline and sympathy.
He said this at a meeting on the occasion of BGB Day-017 on the occasion of Parade in BGB headquarters at Pilkhana in the capital on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister said, "As a member of BGB, your mutual trust and respect, discipline, humanity and, above all, mutual sympathies will strengthen the bonds of this force. In the future, everyone will know about their own discipline, practice, and engage themselves in the welfare of the country.
Sheikh Hasina said, "On January 6, 2009, we made unwarranted incidents in the BDR on 25th and 26th February, 1 month and 1 day of formation of government; We make new laws that resolve quickly. Border Guard Bangladesh reconstituted. The Prime Minister paid tribute to all martyrs, including martyred army officers, during the BDR mutiny. In addition, the Jatiya Sangsad praised the responsible role of BGB members before and after the election to control political violence, prevent terrorist activities, control law and order and public life.
The Prime Minister appreciated the recent Rohingya issue, tension in Myanmar border, security and rehabilitation of Ramu's Buddhist pilgrimage, tackling unstable situation in the hill areas, and praising BGB for rehabilitation of enclaves.
The Prime Minister of BGB Headquarters visited Uttam Anwar Hossain, a pleasant parade organized by Parade Ground and accepted the salam. He was accompanied by parade commander and BGB sub-director Zulfikar Ali The members of the cabinet, advisers to the Prime Minister, members of the Jatiya Sangsad, chiefs of three services, foreign diplomats and senior military and civil officials were present on the occasion.
The Prime Minister gave the medal to 51 BGB members in recognition of his valued and outstanding contribution.
