Today, streaming services are at the zenith of their development. Films, music, games - access to all this can be obtained by subscription without having to download anything other than one single application that includes all the necessary content. But if it is relatively easy to stream music and movies, running heavy games on the servers and then transferring the picture to the user's smartphone via a remote connection so that it also responds to all his actions is not only difficult, but also expensive. Therefore, streaming services for games have alternatives like Samsung's PlayGalaxy Link.
A month ago, at the presentation of Galaxy Note 10, Samsung introduced its gaming service PlayGalaxy Link. With it, you can play games for Windows, on Android. True, unlike real cloud platforms that run the game on their own servers and transmit the picture to the user's smartphone, PlayGalaxy Link requires not only an Internet connection, but also a computer.
How to run computer games on Android
It is on it that games will be launched that can be controlled from a smartphone connected via Wi-Fi. True, in order to be able to play any modern game, this very computer must not have the weakest hardware. Indeed, if the game cannot even be launched, then there will be nothing to stream. And so that the user does not suffer with the technical characteristics of the machine, which is necessary for the PlayGalaxy Link to work, Samsung itself compiled a list of minimum system requirements:
Operating System: Windows 10
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 / AMD Radeon RX 550 or higher
Processor: Intel Core i5 or higher
RAM: 8 GB DDR4
Network Connection: Gigabit Wi-Fi Router
Games for PC on Android
In fact, nothing outstanding, quite standard requirements, but we should not forget that at the moment PlayGalaxy Link is only compatible with Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+, which means that it will not be possible to launch the game on other smartphones, at least for now. At the end of beta testing of the service, Samsung promises to expand support, but so far it is limited to only two models. Yes, and those are allowed to connect to the service only in the USA and South Korea. It is enough to install the desktop version of the client on the computer, and the mobile version on the smartphone.
Unlike other similar services, PlayGalaxy Link does not require an external controller. Their use is allowed, but not required. And to make it more convenient for users to play - after all, games are not intended for touch screens - developers have integrated a virtual controller in the service application. Despite the fact that it is objectively inferior to its physical counterparts, in their absence it can be a real salvation for those who want to play some Battlefield V not at the table, but lying on the couch.
