After ongoing negotiations, Barcelona have confirmed that young midfielder Oriol Busquets has put pen to paper on a three year contract with an option for a further two years.
What is surprising is that his release clause has been set at the astronomical figure of 200 million euros, higher than Marc-Andre Ter Stegen (180), Jordi Alba (150) and Ivan Rakitic (120).
The club are desperate to avoid any repeats of the Neymar case last summer and are seeking to set high release clauses wherever possible.
So far this summer, several young players from La Masia who have signed new deals have done so with a release clause of 100 million euros.
19-year-old Busquets joined the club in 2007 but suffered a knee injury which sidelined him from the B team from February.
