Ukraine at the Dubai Air Show: demonstration flights and contracts for investment in the production of Anov
On November 12, 2017 in the United Arab Emirates the international air show Dubai Air Show began its work. The exhibition presents two Antonov transport aircraft: the prototype of the multipurpose light transport plane An-132 is the An-132D demonstration aircraft and the An-70 short take-off and landing military transport aircraft.
The Antonov AN-132 program is presented jointly with partners from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). On the first day of the An-132D exhibition, numerous delegations from the KSA visited, including: Deputy Defense Minister of the KSA, President of the Taknia Company, a delegation of the Command of the Ground Forces of the KSA.
An-132D took part in the demonstration flight program. The crew of the test pilot of the 2nd class Bogdan Zagorulko and the test pilot of the 3rd class Andrei Gorin showed the high maneuverability of the aircraft in the sky over Dubai.
At the stand, negotiations were held on the issues of establishing supplies of components for the serial production of the AN-132, the development of its new modifications, and the after-sales support of the AN planes in the Middle East and North Africa.
At the same time, the State Enterprise "Kharkov State Aviation Production Enterprise" and the American Oriole Capital Group have reached an agreement on attracting significant investments to the Kharkiv enterprise. According to the agreement, the Ukrainian company, which is a part of Ukroboronprom, will receive an order for serial production of aircraft at a cost of $ 150 million.
First of all, we are talking about serial production of the Ukrainian An-74 aircraft in various modifications at the capacities of the State Enterprise "Kharkov State Aviation Production Enterprise". In turn, Oriole Capital Group will receive the right to invest in the production, modernization and sale of these aircraft. A key element of this strategic partnership is the modernization of existing production, the full involvement of all 3,000 Kharkov enterprise specialists, as well as the aircraft and avionics modernization program, which will help increase the unique operational capabilities of the AN-74.
In addition, the Kharkov State Aviation Production Enterprise will receive orders for the manufacture of spare parts for aircraft, maintenance and training of pilots.
It is noted that the agreement provides for the planning and implementation of the project for a significant period.
