Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Tuesday that the future of the nuclear deal with Iran could be discussed without the participation of the United States, but added that it was impossible to maintain the agreement without concessions.
The Interfax news agency quoted Ryabkov as saying it would be impossible to maintain the nuclear deal without Tehran making concessions.
He said the US decision on Iran was "hasty" in the nuclear talks on the Korean Peninsula.
Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated on Monday Russia's commitment to the nuclear agreement with Iran.
"President Vladimir Putin reiterated Russia's readiness to implement the terms of the comprehensive agreement with Tehran regardless of the withdrawal of the United States," said Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna. Ulyanov added that the Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Yukiya Amano, also stressed during the meeting Iran's continued implementation of its obligations under the agreement.
